Um - Um - Um

This is latest sound Addison makes, and it's so funny! It sounds as if she's confused about something or she can't make a decision! She scoots around saying "Um" all day! She's also getting very good at putting phones (of any kind) and other items up to her ear, and smacking her lips as if she's talking! As I'm sitting here typing, she just put her little baby doll up to her ear and was scooting saying Um! What in the world have we created?

The above pictures are from when we visited the ducks last week. Addison was fascinated, and while we were there she showed off her new skill of POINTING. She pointed to the ducks, and to birds that flew by, and also to planes.

Yesterday I did some consulting work at a local elementary school, so Grandma Sharron was in charge. Grandma played with her musical Fisher Price piano (right up Grandma's alley!) fed her lunch, then took her to Kindermusik class. Grandma said she was a scream at class....full of smiles and clapping her hands the whole time.

Our new area rug arrived yesterday, and it's so nice to have a padded place for Addison to play! Maybe now she will have enough traction to pull herself up on the couches. We will see.

The Joys of the Dishwasher

Every time we open the dishwasher...Addison comes darting (scooting at high speed) across the kitchen to get into it. Between the dishwasher and the dust buster...do we have a theme here? :)

Hey Diddle Diddle...

This is just ONE of the many songs I have stuck in my head right now. Thanks to Kindermusik, parent/baby group, and the many musical toys around our house...I'm being held torture by BABY TUNES! I go to bed humming one of the tunes, and wake up in the morning still singing it! HELP!

The picture to the left is Addison modeling her new outfit from Auntie Tara....her Auntie spoils her! The shirt says "Mommy's Pretty Little Thing." Too cute.

Enough Already!

Our HP wasn't fixed correctly the last time we sent it in for repair, so we have to ship it off again today. We're completely annoyed with the situation, but we figured that there are bigger things in life to worry about. Oh well. If they can't fix the issue (we're getting a blue screen with fuzzy letters when we boot up, occaisonaly) then we are going to demand a new computer.
Addison has been VERY vocal lately, yaking away all day long. She's also been throwing tantrums when things are taken away from her, which is a first for her. Her favorite thing to play with lately is my wallet, and when I take it from her, she starts screaming at the top of her lungs, complete with tears! Last night Chris picked her up and moved her away from something (I can't remember what) and she stiffened her body and went into hysterics! Is this a preview of what's to come? OMG is all I have to say!
One more funny thing she's been doing: Going for the electrical outlets and defying our requests to stay away. We have them all child-proofed, but we want her to stay away from them regardless, so we move her away from them whenever she starts touching them, etc. We will say "No No Addison, OUCH!" and she turns her cute little head, looks at us and gives us this sly little grin, then turns back to the outlet and continues to touch it, and then looks back at us again grinning! Can 10 month olds already manipulate? I think we might have a good case. :)

My new BFF, Reese Elizabeth

Our friends Erika and David just welcomed Reese Elizabeth into the world! She's gorgeous...weighing in at 7 lbs 1 oz, 19.75 inches, born February 17, 2008. Addison can't wait to show her the ropes.

Addison's top front tooth is making an entrance! This picture is a few days old, but you can see a bit of white poking through!

We're baaaaaack!

And earlier than expected! Our HP came back via Fed Ex yesterday, all fixed and ready to go. The annoying thing is that I need to reload all of our software and programs. Ugh. And I haven't loaded the camera software yet, so no new pictures on this post. Sorry.
In the meantime, we have 2 new teeth! Both are upper teeth, one is an upper left front tooth, and the other is right next to it, a "fang." I'm not sure what that one is called. Incisor? No excessive fussiness so far, and they've already broken through, so hopefully we're in the clear for a bit.
Today we had a playdate with Elena. Elena is 17 months and adorable. They still play side by side without much interaction at this point, other than stealing each other's toys! It's nice to have friends with older kids, so I can pick their brains about what to expect. I got some good food recommendations from Kim today. Looks like I'll be heading to Trader Joe's soon!

Motherboard Mayhem

We'll be offline until the 14th of Feb (or so), and I think I might launch into computer withdrawals! Our HP is giving us fits (again) so we're sending it off to the HP doctor to be fixed. Some sort of "motherboard recall." I'm so annoyed...but I have to say that HP's technical support is fantastic, and they've fixed every issue we've had.
So, sorry to all of you "Addison blog fanatics" out there...the star of the show is going on hiatus for a bit. I'm sure when we update next there will be tons of new developments. Signing off.... sniff, sniff!

Texting My Peeps on Super Tuesday!

Addison just can't make up her mind on who she'll vote for in the primaries....so she's been texting her "peeps" to get some advice. Hillary or Barack? She's leaning towards Barack, but she's brimming with GIRL POWER for Hillary as well.

Cats & Mangos

Addison is feeling much better now. She's back to her normal, smiley self! We had a fun weekend, which included a birthday party (Claire's mom's birthday) and the Super Bowl! Addison was completely fascinated with Clarie's cat, Lancelot. When he would enter the room, she would make a bee-line for him, and proceed to grab him and yank on his whiskers! He's used to jostling from Claire, but this new kid was especially rough with him! Poor guy!
On Sunday, Addison had her first taste of a Super Bowl at Grandma & Papa's. She sat on the couch and drank from her sippy cup like a big girl. She was the main attraction because the game wasn't too exciting, until the 4th quarter!
Latest developments: Addison is still scooting, and she's quite efficient! It's the cutest thing to watch! She now sticks her hand out in front of her and waves while she scoots too. New favorite foods: Mangos, Teddy Puffs, Veggie Booty. New sounds/words: Mee Mee Mee Mee, and an unconfirmed "meow" but it sounds like this "aaaaaahhhhhhhww" in this cute, high-pitched voice. She does it when we show her a picture of a cat, or she's sees one in person. :)
