Thanksgiving

We had a fabulous dinner at Nana's house, however Addison REFUSED to nap, I guess she didn't want to miss out on the festivities. We had a heck of a time trying to get her down, she was screaming bloody murder and after 2 hours of rocking, shushing, you name it, we gave up. She did surprisingly well for the rest of the day! She loved chatting on Angie's cell phone with Uncle Sam...the two of them were having a full on conversation, sitting inches from each other.

After the yummy dinner, we proceeded to Aunt Barbie's for dessert. Addison was able to play with her cousins Dominic and Katelyn, and harass my Aunt's new dog, Bailey.

It was a fun, long day, and we are so thankful for our wonderful families.

Updates: Addison can now say her name! When we ask her "What's your name?" She says "Ass-sah." So funny. The other day I asked her "What would you like for breakfast?" and she said "Ice Cream!" Dead serious. She is quite the little character. Points for giving it a try, right? We've also introduced her to juice (very watered down) and it's a brand new world for her! I've been hesitant to give it to her because it's so sugary, and there are camps out there that don't believe in it at all, etc. However, I think we'll give it a go, in moderation. She absolutely LOVES it. She sucks it down so fast, she barely stops for air! When she's done, she goes to the fridge and says "Joo! Joo!" Ugh. What have we started?

I bought her a pair of snow boots today...I want to be prepared for that first Seattle snow! (my luck it won't snow this year!) She was hilarious in them, stomping all around and jogging in place! She wouldn't take them off all day, and I had to peel them off her to get her in the bathtub! She's obsessed with shoes....a true girl. :)

Jibber Jabber!

Addison is talking up a storm these days! She seriously does not stop, all day. Of course, a lot of it we still can't understand, but lately she's really been saying things that are actually discernible! A few days ago, as I was eating some oatmeal, she said "I wanna bite!" I nearly fell off my chair! She loves to color with crayons so this is one of her big words lately, and it's actually pretty clear when she says it, but it sounds like this "Cuh-dur." So cute! She also says "Mommy?" with a questioning inflection in her voice, probably 50 times a day. I always respond, "Yes?" or "What?" and then she goes into a jibber jabber spiel of who knows what!
Oh, another one of her favorites is BABA which is Croatian for Grandma. She shouts "BABA!!!" as she runs down the hall, trying to find my mom.
I can't believe how quickly her language development and skyrocketed...it's amazing to see her growth!
She has a bit of a cough right now, nothing serious, but her voice is a little scratchy, so it's funny to hear her try and sing with her little "high pitched voice" not working as well!

Hula Girl

Addison was the cutest 19 mo. old Hula Girl Maui has ever seen. Unfortunately I didn't get a head to toe shot of her standing still...who can pin down a toddler for a shot like that, right? Here is a cute one...

Aloha!

Aloha! We're 8 days into our trip, and loving the sun, sand and ocean! We started the trip off on a bad foot....Addison had an ear infection. Let me back up. The flight from Seattle was the absolute WORST experience ever. Addison cried almost the entire 5 hour flight. Seriously. She slept for about 45 minutes, and that's maybe stretching it. Our descent into Maui was horrible...it was like she was possessed. Poor thing. We called our Dr. and the nurse said it sounded like an ear infection, coupled with the fevers, cough, runny nose and the horrible flight. The next day, we took her to the Dr. here in Maui, and sure enough, an ear infection. We started antibiotics, and within 2 days, she was feeling better and starting to get back to her normal self! Whew!
We've been thouroughly enjoying our time here...the resort is perfect! It's really kid-friendly, complete with a pirate ship pool with slides for the kids! We've stayed here before (we own a timeshare) but this is the first time we've stayed in the new phase.
We had a fun Halloween here....we dressed Addison as a hula girl, and she marched in the kids' parade in Lahaina! She had to be the cutest hula girl you've ever seen....she had complete strangers snapping her picture! We forgot our camera cord, otherwise I would have posted pictures!
Addison is fascinated with everything here....the sand, flowers, geckos, water, you name it. She's saying TONS of new words: Thank You (teek-you) Flower, Water (Wah-Duur) Gecko, Cookie (keek-ee) and my mom taught her how to say "Ariel", a Disney character on her sippy cup. Thanks mom. :)
We have two more days here...and then back to the rain, so I hear. We will have a new president when we return! Believe me, I'll be glued to the TV tomorrow! We will have to peel ourselves from the beach/pool tomorrow to watch the returns!
