We're baaaaack!

It's been forever since I've posted any updates! Yikes! I have to go back and post some happenings from April and May! Time is flying too quickly these days. So much going on. Addison and Will had their last day at Toddler Group last week, we said goodbye to our beloved "Teacher Becky." :( We've spent the last two years loving every minute of our time spent at Lake Washington Toddler Group. It's been such a wonderful place for us, for support, FUN, and we've met lifelong friends! I've decided to hold off on signing up Will for next year, because my big news is that I'm going back to work half-time! My new schedule will take some getting use to, so I didn't want to add another commitment before I know how my schedule will affect our lives! I'm also going to be working on my National Boards, so that's another reason why Will might have to wait to attend Toddler Group. If things calm down in winter/spring, I'm going to sign him up. I have plenty of friends that will be attending, so we can slip right in, and feel at home!

Addison Update:
Wow. Where do I begin? We've really been experiencing what everyone says about 3 year olds....they're HARD! Waaaaaaaay harder than 2 year olds. Addison is testing every limit she can, lots of meltdowns, showdowns, flailing bodies, etc. You get the picture. She's been rough (physically) with her brother, which is a change because she was so gentle with him before. Now that he's really moblie and invading EVERYTHING, she's been pushing him, kicking him, biting him, you name it. Poor guy. He's growing so fast, she'd better watch out, he's going to take her down one of these days!
We're also having trouble with her following directions in ballet (the teacher isn't the greatest, but she still needs to listen and do what adults tell her to do!) and being sassy with other adults at Toddler Group. I've been absolutely mortified over this one. How can we change this? When I hear her sass someone, ex: An adult will ask her a question and she'll respond with a "Noooooooooo! I don't like that!!!!!!!" or something to that effect, in a whiny, meltdown-ish voice. UGH!!!! When I'm present and hear her do it, I've immediately grabbed her and marched her out of the premisis, and "chatted" about appropriate ways to talk to other people, etc. I don't know what else to do! It's embarassing, and I want it to stop. I'm very afraid she's going to act this way in preschool. We're going to have some serious work to do over the summer, prepping her for school.
On a positive note, Addison is talking like a normal person, she understands everything, and can verbalize almost everything she needs/wants. If she doesn't know the word or how to say something, she'll say "I don't know the word." Pretty articulate, I'd say! She's super silly, always joking around, singing silly songs, saying silly words, and tons of fun to be around, when she's not melting down!
Will Update:
What a cutie. Can't get enough of him! But boy is he busy! He's everywhere, into EVERYTHING! His favorite thing is the toilet...if the bathroom door is left open, he bee-lines for the toilet, sticks his arm in and sloshes it around. YUCK! He also loves the refridgerator...when it's open, he pulls up and squeals with delight.
No words yet....lots of babbling and hilarious grunting, but no discernable words. We've been trying to teach him to "woof" and we've gotten some sounds that might be woofing, but nothing confirmed.
Will is a HUGE eater...I swear that's all he thinks about all day long. I'm sure his babbles/grunts mean "When can I eat next, Mommy?" He's always on the prowl for food...Addison is now sitting at the big table to eat because he was harassing her so much when she sat to eat at her little table. He'll try to get her food, no matter what it is. He has 5 teeth...2 top, 3 bottom. We give him table food, no more baby food. He'll eat anything! He's a tad picky, not a huge fan of veggies, but pretty much everything else is fair game. He's also the world's MESSIEST eater...wow. He's a pigpen afterwards...needing a change of clothes or a bath!
He's probably about 2 weeks away from walking...allllmoooost! He can stand on his own, for about 10-15 seconds, but then he sits down. He loves pushing his walker all over the house, and now he's able to maneuver it if he gets in a jam, against a wall etc. Pretty sophisticated! He's our little daredevil...not afraid of anything. This is so different from Addison....she was (and still is) so cautious!
I'm excited to see what the summer brings...we have such a fabulous backyard, it's going to be fun watching them run in the sprinkler, and play in the water!
