Sleep? What's that?

Addison has officially reverted to a 2 week old, sleeping for no more than 2 hours at a time (at night) and nursing constantly. I'm told this is completely normal, babies at this age (close to 6 months) often revert to unpredictable sleeping habits, which is attributed to the unbelievable developmental milestones that are occurring. Knowing this doesn't make it any easier! We've gone into "survival mode" and brought her to bed with us after the 20th time of getting up to nurse and rock her back to sleep. She starts the night in her own crib, and this lasts until about midnight or 1:00. Then after that, it's anyone's guess. So what is Addison doing right now during the day that is keeping her mind wired at night? Let's start with the SQUEALS. She loves to shriek and squeal, it's the cutest thing ever. We get the best squeals while she's standing up on our laps. Another new thing she's doing is liking tummy time! Well, maybe "like" is too strong of a word, let's just say she's not screaming bloody murder while on her tummy and doing face plants. She's actually pushing herself up and looking around, and eventually she rolls over onto her back. She's not rolling from back to front yet, she gets halfway over, but her arm gets stuck and she can't figure out how to pull it out from under her body.

She's also started to develop a serious case of "mommy separation anxiety. If I'm not in her line of sight, it's all over. She fusses and sometimes becomes inconsolable until I swoop her up. And it's not like I'm leaving her in a room alone, it occurs mostly when someone else is holding her, usually Chris. We're both sad about this new occurrence, because she's always loved being held by her daddy. She still gives him huge smiles, but if mommy is not in the same room, the smiles don't last for more than five minutes. We're hoping this is a short-lived stage because mommy needs a break!

One last cute thing is Addison's absolute facsination with the song "The Itsy Bitsy Spider." She can be screaming until her face is purple, and when I start singing the song, she stops. The song is especially useful while driving in the car. The car rides haven't gotten any better, but when I sing that song, all is well! It's like her crying switch goes off when she hears it. Who knows why! And it's only the one song...although she loves many others including: The Wheels on the Bus, ABC's, Ten in the Bed and Old McDonald, but nothing compares to the Itsy Bitsy Spider!

Addison, Bailey LOVES "Itsy-Bitsy Spider" too! Funny too when you think that her Mommy is DEATHLY afraid of spiders!

We hope sweet LONG dreams are in your near future :)
