Perfect in Every Way

These were the words from our pediatrician today at Addison's 9 month appointment. Our little munchkin is developing beautifully, weighing in at 18 lbs 10 oz, and 28 inches long. We love our doctor, he's so reassuring and always tells us to trust our instincts with Addison. He thinks there's a good possibility that Addison might skip crawling altogether and start walking! She still shows no interest in crawling, and she absolutely LOATHES being put on her tummy. She knows how to roll if she really finds the need to get something, but otherwise, she's content planted on her bottom. She loves to pull herself up on us, always wanting to crawl into our laps. I'm sure she'll be pulling herself up on furniture in no time. The doctor reassured us that there's nothing to worry about since she's not crawling yet, and that it's not considered a "milestone." Some kids skip it!

We had a first on Christmas Eve....Addison waved for the first time! I was at my parent's for a quick hello, and as we were leaving, we were saying the typical, exaggerated "BYE-BYE" routine, and I grabbed her arm to wave it in the air for her, and when I stopped, she continued to wave it. The we whooped and cheered, and then she did it again! She was waving to Auntie Tara and her parents, Lynda and Gary, and also my parents. She had a huge audience. Tara got it on video, and she's going to try to get it to me, so I can post it. It was so cute, I almost cried. She did it again yesterday, so I think she has the hang of it. Another thing she's doing is saying Dadadadada, and Mamamama....without reference to us of course, but it's still cute to hear!

I'm about to get online and start ordering the baby proofing paraphernalia...even though she's not quite mobile yet, it's better to be on the safe side! Hopefully Addison will keep our baby proofing attempts in tact, unlike her friend Claire who strategically dismantled all of her parent's initial attempts at baby proofing!
