We're officially 39 weeks tomorrow (Sunday) and this baby is coming ANY day. I've had a low-grade headache for the past two days, plus feeling nauseous and some slight swelling in my fingers (I haven't swelled the entire pregnancy, can you believe it?) so I called the Family Maternity Center at Evergreen and they said to come in to be monitored. I'm in the dog house with Chris because I went by myself yesterday morning while he slept. Nana was here to watch Addison, and I didn't want to wake Chris up after working a 10 hour night shift, just in case we needed to stay at the hospital. I wanted him to have all the sleep he could get before a sleepless day/night of labor starts! At the hospital, they hooked me up to the Fetal Monitor and watched Will's heart rate, my contractions, and my blood pressure. As I suspected, my BP was elevated. Will is doing great though, and his heart rate looked good while withstanding a couple of contractions. Whew! The Dr. said that I need to slow down, and get off my feet. No more shopping marathons at U-Village. Darn it! The nurse asked me when my due date is, and I said "Next Sunday" and she said "Yeah, this baby is coming before that! We'll be seeing you soon!"
So....now we wait! I'm having lots of sporadic contractions, and last night I had about 2 hours worth, about 10 minutes apart. Then...they fizzled. This is life at 39 weeks pregnant. You just never know when it's going to be the real thing. Hopefully very soon...stay tuned!
