A bit late on the 2 month update! We're doing well! Will is such a sweet boy, we're so in love with him! He's kind of stingy with his smiles, but he loves to smile for Mommy! He gives me tons of smiles on his changing table, it's the perfect height to get a clear line of vision of my face and he's all smiles whenever I lie him down on it. His 2 month appointment went well, for the most part. The bottom line is he's healthy and growing well, so that's the good part. He weighed in at 11 lbs 11.5 oz, which is awesome! Addison was over 3 months old when she finally weighed 11 lbs! My concerns at the appt. were:
1. Sour milk smell in his mouth. He's not a huge spitter, nor is he excessively fussy. He gets the hiccups once or twice a day, but nothing out of the ordinary. The Dr. said that since he's gaining weight well, and there weren't other obvious symptoms, he wasn't positive that it's reflux, but he is tiny bit fussy, and maybe it is a mild form of reflux. He prescribed Zantac, and he said we would notice a difference in a week or so. After 5 days, I don't smell the sour smell as much, and he's been very "chill" lately. I'm not sure if I buy it though. We'll keep him on it for another week or so, and go from there. I'm now wondering if the formula that he's on is just really stinky, and it lingers in his mouth?
2. CAR RIDE HELL. Will haaaaaaates the car. He screams uncontrollably, to the point that he sounds like he's going to pass out. He turns a deep, deep red, with veins popping out of his head, and he sweats bullets. The sweat is so bad that he's soaking wet when we pull him out of the car seat. I'm at my wits end with him. I feel so badly for him, I want to make it better! We've tried every trick in the book, aside from getting a new car seat. The Dr. even heard the after effect of the car ride when we arrived at the office...Will was in hysterics when we walked in the door. After observing him a bit and listening to our description of what it's like for Will in the car, the Dr. thinks Will suffers from motion sickness. He said it runs in families, and what do you know, MOMMY gets horribly motion sick. I told the Dr. how when I lived in New York, I couldn't ride the subway or commuter trains sitting backward. I have to sit forward, looking in the direction that I'm traveling. I can hardly bend down to pick something up off the ground when I'm in the car, and heaven forbid, I CAN'T read a book! The unfortunate thing for Will is there's not much we can do for him. He MUST sit backwards in the car seat until he's 20 lbs and one year old. I have a friend who recommended something called a "static strip"...you put it on your car and it reduces car sickness. Chris thinks it's crazy, but he'll be thanking me for ordering it when it WORKS!! I'm waiting for it to arrive, so I'll post soon once we get it installed and give it a whirl.
3. The SWEAT. The Dr. also watched Will has he got very reved up because he was hungry, turning red, screaming and sweating. I've been concerned about his sweating. He doesn't sweat when he sleeps, but he does sweat when he gets worked up. The Dr. said it's nothing to worry about, he's just a sweater! He said it's part of the fight or flight reaction in the body when presented with stress, and Will's threshold is very low! He goes from zero to 60 in NO TIME at all!
All in all, we have a very healthy boy. We are very blessed to have two healthy children. Just a couple little quirks! I have to have something to worry about, don't I? ;)

Poor Will! I completely understand the car sickness...I'm with you Anna (and Will) on not being able to sit backwards, read, etc. Hope that the new static strip does the trick!
Yeah for such a big boy! That is great and must make you feel so good. You made it 2 months as a Mom of 2 and did it so well. You are a pro now!
