4 Month Will!

Our sweet baby boy is 4 months old! Boy, does time go so much faster with the second child. Will is developing so quickly, it seems like everyday he's doing something new. Right now his big accomplishment is rolling. The minute we lay him flat on his back, he immediately flips over onto his stomach and lifts his head and looks all around. My mom gave him a little toy snail that plays music, and he loves to grab for it, trying to roll it closer to him, mainly so he can try to stuff it in his mouth! Which brings me to another accomplishment, holding/grabbing toys and bringing them to his mouth. He's very content in his exersaucer, which has toys to grab all around it, and that gives me some time to get things done around the house! Before, I would put him in the bouncy seat, and set him in the kitchen with me, or the bathroom while I showered, etc. but now he loves his saucer and can stay in it for more than 2 minutes without getting fussy and wanting to be held.
Will's 4 month check up with the pediatrician went very well....he weighed in at 15 lbs 1 oz! He's in the 50th-75th percentile for weight, and his length was 26.25" which puts him in the 75th-90th percentile. He's going to be tall like his Daddy!

The Dr. was pleased with his growth and development! He had his vaccines, which he didn't like, and when he got home he was very fussy and went to bed quite early for the night. Poor little guy. Addison also had the Seasonal Flu and H1N1 shot....she thought she was going to her brother's appt. and she could relax, but little did she know (or I for that matter!) that she would be getting poked! She was hysterical, which I expected, and I had to hold her in my lap and put my legs over hers to prevent her from kicking the nurse! She still has her band-aids on, demanding that we don't take them off! Sooooooo dramatic.

Breastfeeding/Pumping Update: I'm done. I just couldn't do it any longer. I figure lasting for 4 months was a good start for Will. Pumping was killing me, and I dreaded it. I dropped down to 2 pumpings a day (morning and night) and I was barely producing anything. My herbal arsenal was getting tiresome as well. Now I'm taking my prenatal vitamin, and that's it. Quite a difference from the 36 pills I was popping each day! I'm still feeling sad about stopping. I know I'll get over it, but it will take some time. I soooooo wanted to keep with it, and have the same wonderful experience I had with Addison, but Will is a different child, and I need to remind myself of that. He had 4 months of SOME breastmilk, and bonding with Mommy. I realize that a baby doesn't need to nurse to bond with Mommy, but it is such a special experience that I feel lucky to have been able to have with both of my kids. Onto wearing a NORMAL bra, and putting the pump away! Yeah!
