We have a 10 pounder in the house!

I took Addison to the breast feeding center today after our Snugglers group, and she weighed in at a whopping 10 lbs 3.3 oz! This is such a relief to know that our supplementation is working! I did find out, however, that my milk supply is reducing, so I need to start pumping again. Ugh. But I'll do whatever it takes to give Addison breastmilk. It was also suggested to me by my Snuggler's group instructor that I try acupuncture, and she gave me the name of a clinic that deals with women's health. I hate needles...but if it might help my milk supply and overall health, why not?

The nurse told me that I'm very lucky to have made it this far as a breast-reduction nursing mom. Most women who've had the surgery aren't successful breastfeeding, and in all her years as a lactation consultant, she can count on one hand (including me!) those that are! We calculated that Addison is getting about 3/4 breastmilk, and 1/4 soy formula. I think that's pretty good considering our unique situation!
