Sneak Peek

Yesterday we had a 3-D ultrasound at Philips, one of makers of the ultrasound machines. My sister-in-law, Tara, works there and she was able to hook me up as an "OB Model." We did this with Addison as well...it's so cool to see the 3-D views! I was anxious to see his current position, because at our 20 week appt. he was in a transverse (sideways) position. This time, he was all over the place! He started out head down (yeah!) but then a few minutes later, he did a complete flip and was sitting straight up! This kid is a mover and shaker! Addison did not move like this at all. She sat upright almost my entire pregnancy, and didn't do ANY flipping! It's definitely a weird sensation when he does these acrobatics...I sometimes wonder what in the world he's doing in there! The good news is that he has the potential to position himself head-down, so it doesn't seem that there's anything anatomical that is blocking him from doing it. Yeah! I still have 13 weeks to go, so a lot can happen between now and then, so I'm definitely not counting my chickens. But I'm a bit relieved for the time being, and now I won't stress as much.

We were unable to get some really great 3-D face shots, because the little guy kept putting his hands up by his face, and the transducer picks up the hand first, and sort of blurs the rest of his face. We did get some peeks, so those are the two posted pictures above. He has some meat on his cheeks which is so cute! Check out the difference between Addison's 3-D shot (scroll down the page, to the right) at 23 weeks, and you will see that just a 3 week difference will produce more "chubs" to the cheeks!

I can't believe the baby completely flipped around while you were watching! What a sight that must have been. I will be thinking good thoughts for you for the baby to turn in good position for your vbac. What cute pics of your little guy!
